Winston McGill, Kingstree - Funeral services for Winston "Winnie" Churchhill McGill, conducted by the Rev. Mervin McBride, were held Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Clauddie Henryhand Memorial Chapel of Kingstree, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home.
Mr. McGill died Sunday, March 23, 2014, at Tideland Community Hospice of Georgetown. He was born June 16, 1947, the son of the late Marion McGill, Sr., and Ada Geneva Cooper. He attended Williamsburg Technical College Training School in Williamsburg County during his early life. After high school, he left and resided in Providence, Rhode Island, where he worked various jobs. Three siblings, Rosette McGill Green, Lottie Rious and Flora Bell Keels, and one special friend, Mary, preceded him in death. Survivors are: three children, Martin Trent McGill of Florida; Kenneth Wayne McGill (Valerie) of Providence, Rhode Island; and Libby Ann McGill of Maryland; three brothers, Marion Levern McGill, Jr. of Bronx, New York; Harry Simon McGill of Phoenix, Arizona; and James McGill (Cynthia) of Washington, DC; three sisters, Florence Smalls of Summerville; and Deborah Burgess (Robert) and Cynthia Holmes (Samuel), both of Lane; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
