Martha White, Greeleyville - Martha Ann McDonald White, 75, wife of Julius Carlisle White, died Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at Williamsburg Hospital.
A funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Marty Hodge, was held Saturday, March 15, 2014, in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home. Burial, directed by Stephens Funeral Home & Crematory, followed at New Market Cemetery of Greeleyville.
Born December 8, 1938, in Georgetown County, she was the daughter of the late Johnnie Winfield McDonald and Mabel McDonald. She was a member of Greeleyville Baptist Church. A brother, Robert "Rocky" McDonald, preceded her in death.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, are: one daughter, Amy Lou Mouzon Carter (Billy) of Wagener; one son, Charles R. "Randy" Landreth, Jr. (Kimberly) of Greeleyville; two brothers, Johnnie McDonald, Jr. (Gloria) and Frankie McDonald (Ann); one sister, Beulah McDonald; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Kris Carter, Jonathan Carter, Brandon Carter, Jason Pack, Ricky McKnight, and Rhett Floyd, Jr. Memorials may be made to the Greeleyville Flag Day Fund, P.O. Robbie Taylor, Kingstree - Robbie Olin Taylor, 87, husband of Sarah E. Hilton Taylor, died Sunday, March 9, 2014, at his residence. Funeral services were held Friday, March 14, 2014, at Greeleyville Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home, followed at New Market Cemetery. Mr. Taylor was born July 8, 1926, in Kershaw County, the son of the late James N. and Docia Broom Taylor. He was a graduate of Kershaw County schools, attended Clemson University, and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Navy.
He was retired from the US Postal Service after serving 38 years as a letter carrier. He was a member of Greeleyville Baptist Church. He was a former member of Greeleyville Town Council and served as Mayor of Greeleyville. He was a member of   Inglesby Masonic Lodge No.267 AFM in Greeleyville, where he was a Past Master and a Past District Deputy. Survivors, in addition to his wife, Sarah of Greeleyville, are: one daughter, Janice Taylor of Greeleyville; two sons, Kenneth O. Taylor of Simpsonville; and Michael B. Taylor (Peggy) of Fairview, North Carolina; one grandson; and three step-grandchildren.

Mattie Chandler, Kingstree - Mrs. Mattie Lee Miller Chandler, 84, died Friday, March 7, 2014, at Kingstree Nursing Facility of Kingstree. Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Gilbert J. DeKine, were held Thursday, March 13, 2014, at St. James AME Church of Lane. Burial, directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home, followed at the churchyard cemetery. Mrs. Chandler was born March 30, 1929, in Lane, the daughter of the late Willie Miller and Carrie Salters Slay. She was married to the late Leroy "Stogam" Chandler, Sr. A son, Leroy Chandler, Jr., preceded her in death. She was a lifelong member of St. James AME Church, where she served as an usher and a missionary. She was a farmer. She also worked at Oneita Knitting of Andrews and Kingstree Knit of Lane. Survivors are: four daughters: Rosa Harvin (Bruster) of Lane; Emily Cooper (Danzell) and Louise Barr (Martin), both of Kingstree; and Antoinette Johnson (Curtis) of Greeleyville; a granddaughter reared as a daughter, Candance Green of Kingstree; two others, who were like daughters, Queen E. Epps and Martha Pendergrass (Joseph), both of Kingstree; two sisters, Elder Hattie P. Epps of Kingstree; and Mary P. Just (Isaiah) of Charleston; one brother, Herbert Lee Miller (Iola) of Charleston; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter
