February 28th. The 1:30 ceremony welcomed Dr. James Carter as he open his office, Williamsburg Gynecology, located at 400 Nelson Boulevard. Dr. Carter, a board-certified gynecologist, is a former Professor Emeritus of the Medical University of South Carolina, and has practiced in Georgetown and in Charleston. Carter was born in Kingstree and grew up in Georgetown and is pleased to be returning to Kingstree and a small-town environment to practice medicine. Carter has been chosen for the past 14 years as one of the "Best Doctors in America," a prestigious election that includes fewer than 4% of physicians nationally. His practice includes gynecology and gynecological services including in and outpatient laparoscopic surgery.
A 2:00 ribbon cutting ceremony followed at Williamsburg Regional Hospital new cardiology practice, Ocean Cardiology, with Dr. Ariane Lieberman and Dr. Craig Lieberman, whose offices also are located at 400 Nelson Boulevard. The office, located at the rear of the building, brings all cardiology services to the area. The Liebermans, who also have an office in Murrell's Inlet, are excited about serving the medical needs of the surrounding community. Dr. Ariane Lieberman specializes in hypertension, heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias, and preventive heart disease. Dr. Craig Lieberman specializes in congestive heart failure, coronary disease, and peripheral vascular issues. He recently was recognized by the American Heart Associatioon for his use of evidence-based measures and excellence of care to patients with cardiovascular disease or who have had a stroke.
