Seniors Patrol - The Kingstree Police Department is offering a seniors patrol wellness check. Any elderly, ill or bedridden residents of the Town of Kingstree who would like for the police department to contact them on a regular basis should call Chief Eric Williams or Police Chaplain the Rev. Traffic Safety Checkpoints - The Lane, Greeleyville, and Kingstree Police Departments will be conducting traffic safety checkpoints during the month of August.

Senior Bingo - The senior citizens of Lane invite any senior citizen to join them every first and third Tuesday at Lane Recreation Center on Broomstraw Rd. for "Senior Bingo."

Weight Watchers - Weight Watchers 2013 meetings will be held at the First Baptist Church of Kingstree. Classes are on Thursdays at 5 p.m.

Housing Authority - The Housing Authority of Kingstree will meet every third Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. at 1022 Lexington Ave., Kingstree.

Banquet - The Tomlinson Alumni Committee, Inc. will sponsor a banquet honoring outstanding student who attended the school prior to 1955. This will be the first class of "Hall of Fame Honorees." This event is scheduled for Saturday, March 22, 2014, 5 p.m. at the Williamsburg County Recreation Complex Gym, Thurgood Marshall Highway, Kingstree. Funds will benefit the building project, The Tomlinson Resource and Fine Arts Center. Tickets may be purchased from members of the committee. Program - Through The Storm Outreach, Inc., a Maternity Group Home located in Kingstree, has beds available for youth ages 16 to 22. They will come pick the youth up from your facility and intake them into their program for up to 540 days. There are five beds available for pregnant and parenting girls. Nominations - South Carolina African American Heritage Commission (SCAAHC) will present the Preserving Our Places In History awards on March 28, 2014, at the South Carolina Archives & History Center of Columbia. The mission of the SCAAHC is to identify and promote the preservation of historic sites, structures, buildings, and culture of the African American experience in South Carolina and to assist and enhance the efforts of the South Carolina Department of Archives & History. The award categories are individual award, group or organization award, project award, and lifetime achievement award. The deadline for nominations will be January 31, 2014. All nominees will be notified by March 14, 2014.

Yoga Classes - Regular yoga classes for beginners and Chair yoga classes are offered at the St. Alban's Episcopal Church Parrish Hall at 305 Hampton Ave., Kingstree. Please use the door at the hall that does not face Hampton Ave. on the left side. The classes are open to a diverse population and require no experience with yoga. Assistance - Williamsburg County First Steps Office will be opened to assist the public in completing their 2013 Federal and State Income Tax Returns starting on January 31 through April 15, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This service is free to the public with an AGI of $95,000 for married clients who choose to file a joint return, and $65,000 for all other clients. Please bring the following items with you to file your taxes: government issued ID; social security number(s); w2's; 1099's, 1098's; last year's tax return (if available); information about other income; and deduction and credit info. Conference - Georgetown Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. annual Teen Conference 2014 for ages 10-18 will be held on March 22, at Georgetown Middle School beginning at 8 a.m. There will also be parent sessions. Health Screening - The Nursing Department of Francis Marion University has been approved to provide free health screenings every Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Felician Center located at 1000 Thorne Avenue, Kingstree. Sugar testing, vision testing etc. will be provided free of charge. In addition, a licensed nurse will be available to assist individuals with some health planning on a regular basis.

Scholarships - Calling all high school seniors interested in pursuing a career path in agriculture – ArborOne Farm Credit has two scholarships that may be for you. Eligible applicants are high school seniors who plan to continue their education at a two or four-year college on a full-time basis. The student must live within ArborOne's 12 county territories: Chesterfield, Clarendon, Darlington, Dillon, Florence, Georgetown, Horry, Lee, Marion, Marlboro, Sumter, or Williamsburg. Pageant - Mary's Angels, a nonprofit 501(C)3 cordially invite Williamsburg County youth to participate in this years county pageant. The County Pageant officially part of the Miss America Organization will be held Friday June 13, at Williamsburg County Complex located 147 W. Main Street Kingstree. This year's theme is "Flawless." Testing - The SCPASS Writing Assessment will be administered from March 18 to March 19, to Williamsburg County School District students in grades third through eighth.

Concert - Steve Hess and Southern Salvation will be in concert at Kingstree First Assembly of God on Saturday, March 8, at 6:30 p.m. Admission to the concert is free.
