Concern citizens of Williamsburg County I am disturb about these tree shade carpenters that are unlicensed, unskilled and they are very smart at deceiving the public, their customers by getting a sustainable amount of money upfront, their prime targets are mostly women and the elderly.
Some of their tactics are to first begin the job knowing that the city or county code enforcement officer will put a stop order on the work which will give them leave way to keep the down payment that will result in a breach of contract for you. I think the solution to the problem is for the public to first ask to see their licenses, ask for reference of previous customer and check with the city or county code enforcement before you sign a contact or give them any money upfront. Also be aware, be very aware that some of their labor workers could be a rapist, a home invader, a pedophile, or a drug addict. A safety precaution is to always check your residence doors, windows, immediately after the work has stop for the day to make sure there is no tampering for easy access at a later date and time. Another precaution is when you observe construction going on at any location you can call the city or county code enforcement officer to come and inspect the operation making sure it is up to code.
