Funeral services for Mrs. Sennie Tisdale Battle, conducted by the Rev. James C. Lane, were held Saturday February 1, 2014, at St. Paul United Methodist Church of Kingstree. Mrs. Battle died Sunday, January 26, 2014, at Williamsburg Regional Hospital of Kingstree. She was born April 15, 1922, in Williamsburg County, the daughter of the late Nora and Noah Tisdale. She attended the public schools of Williamsburg County. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church of Kingstree. She was a farmer, a housekeeper and a caregiver for many years. One son, Clarence Battle, Jr.; and four siblings, Masion and Fairy Tisdale and Flossie and Frances Burroughs, preceded her in death. She was married to the late Clarence Battle. Survivors are: three daughters, Odell Scott, Dorothy Mae June (James Chandler) and Shirley Kitchen, all of Kingstree; two sons, Joseph Battle (Betty) and Earnest Battle, both of Kingstree; one granddaughter, she reared as her own, Anica Kitchen of Kingstree; 43 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
