Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Pankey Fulton, conducted by Bishop Dr. Roosevelt Fulton and the Rev. Joseph Chandler, Sr., were held Saturday February 1, 2014, at Evangelistic Temple Way of the Cross of Kingstree. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Greenlawn Cemetery of Kingstree. Mrs. Fulton died Saturday, January 25, 2014. She was born October 28, 1943, in Ingram Branch, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Richard and Eleanor (Susie) Woodson Pankey. She was a member of Mount Sinai Way Of The Cross Church. She attended the public schools of West Virginia. At the age of 17, she moved to Brooklyn, New York to gain employment where she met and married Jenkins “Bubba” Fulton. She worked at Burrough Hall of Brooklyn, New York, where she retired. Survivors are: one daughter, Kathy Michelle Fulton of Brooklyn, New York; one son, Marcel (Mayra) of Richmond, Virginia; five brothers Michael Pankey (Betty), Ervin Pankey, Robert Pankey (Rosa), all of Maryland; Russell Pankey of North Carolina; and David Pankey of New York; six sisters, Norma Braxton, Tressie Hardy (Grover), Christy Pankey, Sharon Pankey, and Candace Pankey, all of West Virginia; and Christine Williams (Percy) of Southfield, Michigan; five grandchildren; and one great grandson.
