Funeral services for Mrs. Lucinda Drayton, conducted by the Rev. J. Jeannetté Cooper, were held Monday, January 27, 2014, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church of Kingstree. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Kingstree Cemetery of Kingstree. Mrs. Drayton died Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at the Kingstree Nursing Facility of Kingstree. She was born May 5, 1915, the daughter of the late Abie and Maggie Thomas Wilson in Clarendon County. She was a member of Siloam Baptist Church of Kingstree at an early age. After marriage to the late John Vademar Drayton, she took up her residence in New Orleans, Louisiana. There she was a member of the Greater Mount Rose Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday schoolteacher, choir member and a church club leader. She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church of Kingstree. Four siblings preceded her in death. Survivors are: one brother, Abie LeRoy Wilson (Dorothy) of Kingstree; and nieces and nephews.
