Ray Bradshaw, Kingstree

Funeral services for Ray Brown “Poppy” Bradshaw, conducted by Bishop Dr. Roosevelt Fulton, were held Saturday, January 25, 2014, at Evangelistic Temple Way of the Cross Church of Kingstree. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Pine Grove AME Church Cemetery of Greeleyville. Mr. Bradshaw died Monday, January 20, 2014, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital of Manning. He was born June 18, 1936, in Benson, North Carolina, the son of the late Gus Bradshaw and Juanita Stewart Bradshaw. Later he moved to Manning, where he attended Manning High School. At an early age, he was a member of St. Luke Baptist Church in the Foreston Community. In 1996, he retired from Union Camp International Paper after working 30 years with the company. In 1997, he moved back to Greeleyville. Survivors are: his wife, Jeannie A. Bradshaw; three daughters, Barbara Green (Lawrence) of Greeleyville; Cherry Middleton (Steve) of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; and Brenda Fergerson (Johnny) of Augusta, Georgia; one son, Ray Bradshaw, Jr. (Sandra) of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; five step-children, Milissa Cooper (Don) of Lake City; Tracey Brooks (Malcolm Daniel) and Samantha Burgess (Lance), both of Florence; Denise Wells (Shawn Sweat) of Alcolu; and Rosa McKenzie of Coward; one sister, Alice J. Bradshaw Smith of Benson, North Carolina; two grandchildren he raised as his own, Thomas (Thomas) Brown and Janika Brown; 16 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
