Bernice Singletary, Salters

Funeral services for Bernice Dozier Singletary, conducted by the Rev. Jimmy Brockington, were held Saturday, January 25, 2014, at Marion Missionary Baptist Church of Salters. Ms. Singletary, 85, died Monday, January 20, 2014, at the Medical University of South Carolina of Charleston. She was born January 26, 1928, in Salters, the daughter of the late Levi Dozier, Sr. and Charlotte Days Dozier. She received her formal education in the public schools of Williamsburg County. She was a member of Marion Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and sang on the Senior Choir. She was married to Felder Singletary. Two children, Lerone Singletary and Yvonnia Singletary, preceded her in death. Survivors are: four children, Marber Dell Green of Florence; Sandra Green (John) of Georgetown; Shelva Dean Chandler of Lane; and Herman Singletary (Cathy) of Orangeburg; two sisters, Pearlestine Dunmore and Shirley Plowden; two brothers, the Rev. Levi Dozier, Sr. (Roberta) and James Dozier; 18 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
