Funeral service for Mrs. Rosa M. Strong Wright was conducted Thursday, January 23, 2014, at Wesley United Methodist Church. Burial, directed by Ideal Funeral Parlor, Inc., followed at the Florence National Cemetery. Mrs. Wright died Sunday, January 19, 2014, at Carolinas Hospital System of Florence. She was born June 7, 1941, in Kingstree, the daughter of the late Jessie “Jim” and Sallie Wallace Strong of the Millwood Community. She attended the public schools of Williamsburg County and graduated from Blakley High School in Salters. She continued her education in New York City, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. She was formerly employed by International Flavor & Paper Company, from which she retired after 27 years. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Two siblings, Olin and Daniel Strong, preceded her in death. Survivors are: her husband, William James Wright; one brother, Leroy Strong (Annie) of Florence; two sisters, Henrietta Strong of Atlanta, Georgia; and Mary Grant of Syracuse, New York; and her mother-in-law, Mrs. Queen Wright of Trio.
