Robert L. “Roc” Wilson, 79, died Saturday, January 4, 2014, at McLeod Regional Medical Center of Florence. Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. David Woods, Jr., were held Thursday, January 9, 2014, at the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Salters. Burial, directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home, followed at Crossroad Cemetery of Salters. Mr. Wilson was born October 27, 1934, in Williamsburg County, the son of the late Robert Wilson, Sr. and Alice Easterling Wilson. A son, Kenneth O’Neal Wilson; four siblings, Alvin Nelson, Earline Shavers, Willie Mae Driffin, and Lucille Haynes, preceded him in death. He was a lifelong member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Salters, where he served as a trustee and as an usher. He attended the public schools of Williamsburg County. He worked most of his life as a farmer and was employed by Drexel-Heritage Furniture Company for 30 years. Survivors are: his wife, Lerline Epps Wilson of the home, five daughters, Angela Moore (Michael) of Rock Hill; Ellen McLeod (John) of Vass, North Carolina; Frances Dalton of Salters; Judith Battle (Richard) of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina; and Teresa Wilson of Pinehurst, North Carolina; one brother, Charles Wilson, Sr. (Susie) of Kingstree; one sister, Estelle Boggan of Salters; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
