Harry Croker, St. Stephens

Funeral services for Harry Nathaniel Croker, conducted by Evangelist Emmie Grant and the Rev. Rubin Croker, were held Sunday, January 19, 2014, at Cannan Pentecostal Church of St. Stephen. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Zion Cemetery of Russellville. Mr. Croker died Tuesday, January 7, 2014. He was born July 16, 1936, in St. Stephen, the son of the late Janice and Arthur Croker, Sr. He attended Russellville Elementary and High School in St. Stephen. He was a Dragon of “59.” In school, he was known as “The Cool One.” He played football for Russellville High School. His class and teammates called him “Blood and Guts.” He studied agriculture in high school. He enjoyed farming in South Carolina and gardening in New York. He owned a restaurant and later worked for a seasonal company. He retired in 1995. After retiring in 1995, he helped managed rental properties in New York. He was a Mason. He was a member of Lebanon Lodge #54, Prince Hall affiliation. He served as Marshall. Survivors are: his wife, Olivia “Tracie” Stukes; two daughters, Deborah and Jackie; one sister, Rita Watford; and one brother, Edward Conyers Croker.
