Matthew Blanding, Jr., Kingstree

Funeral services for Matthew “Boochie” Blanding, Jr., conducted by Elder Moses McKever, were held Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at Clauddie Henryhand Memorial Chapel of Kingstree. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Marion Memorial Gardens of Salters. Mr. Blanding died Friday, January 3, 2014. He was born February 22, 1958, in Kingstree, the son of Rebecca Blanding and the late Matthew Blanding, Sr. He was educated in the public schools of Williamsburg County. He attended Marion Missionary Baptist Church of Salters. He was employed by B.W. Baker, Colonial Rubber and Firestone. A daughter, Maxine Blanding Brown, preceded him in death. Survivors, in addition to his mother of Kingstree, are: his wife, Louida McKever Blanding of the home; one adopted daughter, Tiffany Lee of Kingstree; one sister, Margarette Green (Walter) of Kingstree; one brother, Jasper Blanding of Kingstree; three grandchildren; and three adopted grandchildren.
