Funeral services for Debra Cash, conducted by the Rev. Jerry Smalls and Elder Craig Cash, were held Monday, December 16, 2013, at Greater Howard AME Church of Buckhall. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Greater Howard AME Church Cemetery of Buckhall. Ms. Cash died Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at The Hospice House of Mt. Pleasant. She was born June 20, 1951, in McClellanville, the daughter of the late George Smith and Beulah Mae Cash Huger. She was raised in the Buckhall section of McClellanville, under the love and care of her late grandmother, Elizabeth Cash. She received her education within the Charleston County Public School System and earned her diploma from Lincoln High School in 1969. She was a member of Greater Howard AME Church, where she served as a member of the church’s Kitchen Committee and Senior Choir. Survivors are: five children, James Cash (Tina), Craig Cash (Dana), Shawn Cash (Betty), Melissa Cash Rodgers (Allen) and Jessica Cash; six brothers, Fred Weathers, Larry Smith, Roy Cash, Roddy Smith, Martin Smith and Calvin Smith; three sisters, Susie Simmons, Beverley Smith and Bonnie Smith; one Goddaughter, Kalehmie Simons; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
