Hemingway suspects arrested in connection with a Florence County murder

Two Hemingway men have been arrested and charged in connection with a December 3, murder and armed robbery that occurred on Aline Street in Florence County. Nathaniel Nesmith, 51, of Williams Road, Hemingway, and Donald Roy Dollard, 57, of Henry Road, Hemingway, have been charged with Armed Robbery, Kidnapping, and Murder in the death of David Lionel Jenkins.   The two suspects were arrested on December 17, at separate locations in Williamsburg County by Florence and Williamsburg County Sheriff's deputies along with US Marshals, according to a Florence County Sheriff's office press release.   According to investigators, Nesmith and Dollard allegedly entered the premises on Aline Street armed with a handgun and with the intent of robbing the occupants. In addition, the victims were restrained and prohibited by the suspects from leaving the premises. During the incident, Jenkins was fatally shot before the suspects fled the scene.  Images of these suspects were captured by on-premise video and released to local media. The identity of the suspects was the result of an anonymous tip to law enforcement.   Nesmith was charged with armed robbery while armed with a deadly weapon, kidnapping, criminal conspiracy, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and one count of murder. Dollard is charged with armed robbery while armed with a deadly weapon, kidnapping, criminal conspiracy, and one count of murder.   The suspects are being held at the Florence County Detention Center while awaiting a bond hearing before a circuit court judge. The investigation into this incident is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
