Funeral services for Mrs. Venies Ola Jackson McClam, conducted by Pastor Tommy Woods, were held Sunday, December 1, 2013, at Clauddie Henryhand Memorial Chapel of Kingstree. Mrs. McClam died Monday, November 25, 2013, at McLeod Regional Medical Center of Florence. She was born June 22, 1953, in Williamsburg County, the daughter of the late Spencer and Gracie Jackson. She received her formal education in the public schools of Williamsburg County. After graduation, she worked for various sewing manufacturing companies in Williamsburg County and various hotels in Horry County. She was married to Cornell “Sonny” McClam, Sr. Two brothers, Gilbert and Arthur Jackson, preceded her in death. Survivors are: eight children, Dolan McClam (Sharon) of Lake City; Akili McClam (Mary) of Orangeburg; Cornell McClam (Sara) of Manassas, Virginia; Sedieka McClam of Salters; Jason McClam of Myrtle Beach; Jeffrey McClam (Tonya) of Trio; and Lacie McClam and Steven McClam, both of Kingstree; four sisters, Mary Hightower of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Helen Young of Durham, North Carolina; Millie Griffey of Jacksonville, Florida; and Itlean Flowers (Willis) of Hemingway; three brothers, Eddie Joe Jackson (Nancy) of Jacksonville, Florida; Alexander Jackson of West Palm Beach, Florida; and Otis Jackson (Mary Lee) of Columbia; and 14 grandchildren.
