Funeral services for Maxine “Puddin” Blanding Brown, conducted by the Rev. Jimmy Brockington, were held Friday, November 29, 2013, at Marion Missionary Baptist Church of Salters. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Marion Memorial Garden of Salters. Mrs. Brown died Sunday, November 24, 2013. She was born December 25, 1979, in Kingstree, the daughter of Louida McKever Blanding and Matthew Blanding. She attended Marion Missionary Baptist Church of Salters. She was educated in the public school of Williamsburg County, graduating in 1998. While in high school, she played the flute on the marching band. She was employed by Tupperware as a machine operator. Later she was employed by the Fort Jackson Military Base in the commissary. Survivors, in addition to her parents of Kingstree, are: her husband, Christopher Brown of Kingstree; three children, Deovion McFarlin, Matthew Blanding, and Kenyatta Damiya Blanding, all of Kingstree; one stepson, JaQuavious Bradshaw of Andrews; one adopted brother, Kevin Thomas; her grandmother, Rebecca Blanding of Kingstree; father-in-law, Lacy Flagler of Texas; her grandmother-in-law, Flossie Fulton; and her great-grandmother, Mattie Flagler.
