Seniors Patrol - The Kingstree Police Department is offering a seniors patrol wellness check. Any elderly, ill or bedridden residents of the Town of Kingstree who would like for the police department to contact them on a regular basis should call Chief Eric Williams or Police Chaplain the Rev. Senior Bingo - The senior citizens of Lane invite any senior citizen to join them every first and third Tuesday at Lane Recreation Center on Broomstraw Rd. for “Senior Bingo.” Weight Watchers- Weight Watchers 2013 meetings will be held at the First Baptist Church of Kingstree. Parade - The Town of Kingstree will host its annual Christmas parade at 5 p.m. on Friday, December 13. The parade theme is “A Night Before Christmas.” The parade will feature local bands, dance groups, floats, and organizations. The Christmas Tree Lighting will take place immediately following the parade in Welch’s Park on North Academy Street. Banquet - The Tomlinson Alumni Committee, Inc. will sponsor a banquet honoring outstanding student who attended the school prior to 1955. This will be the first class of “Hall of Fame Honorees.” This event is scheduled for Saturday, March 22, 2014, 5 p.m. at the Williamsburg County Recreation Complex Gym, Thurgood Marshall Highway, Kingstree. Funds will benefit the building project, The Tomlinson Resource and Fine Arts Center. Tickets may be purchased from members of the committee. Auditions - Swamp Fox Players auditions for “The Constant Wife,” performance dates are Feb 28 to March 16, 2014. The play is directed by Mark Brown. Audition dates are Sunday, December 8, and Monday, December 9, from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Needed: Four women to play the ages of late 20s to very early 40s. One woman to play an elderly, refined English matron approximately. age between late 50s to very early 70s. Four men to play between the ages of late 40s to 60s. The actors do not have to be these ages, but be able and convincing to play these ages. Please note that this is an English play and while across the board, refined, English dialect would be great but the important thing is that it be done without any American, regional dialect. Please bring a prepared monologue of your choosing (memorized or written). Class - There will be a Concealed Weapon Permit class on Saturday, January 18, at 8 a.m. at the Kingstree Town Hall.
