Seniors Patrol - The Kingstree Police Department is offering a seniors patrol wellness check. Any elderly, ill or bedridden residents of the Town of Kingstree who would like for the police department to contact them on a regular basis should call Chief Eric Williams or Police Chaplain the Rev. Senior Bingo - The senior citizens of Lane invite any senior citizen to join them every first and third Tuesday at Lane Recreation Center on Broomstraw Rd. for “Senior Bingo.” Weight Watchers- Weight Watchers 2013 meetings will be held at the First Baptist Church of Kingstree. Parade - The Town of Kingstree will host its annual Christmas parade at 5 p.m. on Friday, December 13. The parade theme is “A Night Before Christmas.” The parade will feature local bands, dance groups, floats, and organizations. The Christmas Tree Lighting will take place immediately following the parade in Welch’s Park on North Academy Street. Candlelight Tour - A Candlelight Tour of Historic Lake City will be held Sunday, December 8, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., a holiday tour featuring Lake City’s most beautiful homes and architecture. Children of Tomorrow will be having its seventh annual parade and toy giveaway, starting at 12 p.m. in Nesmith on Saturday, December 7. All churches, clubs, school king/queens and school marching bands are asked to join them on this day by entering a float and/or car to represent your organization. Banquet - The Tomlinson Alumni Committee, Inc. will sponsor a banquet honoring outstanding student who attended the school prior to 1955. The parade begins at 10 a.m. and line-up begins at 9 a.m. The parade will begin at 2 p.m. and the line-up at 1 p.m. if inclement weather. Parade participation is free. Angel Tree - An ANGEL TREE of needs is up in the Main St. branch of First Citizens Bank. The Felician Sisters interview all applicants for the “needs” of children. Approximately 150 children will receive gifts from the ANGEL TREE. Everyone is invited to stop by the bank and take a tag to purchase a gift for a child. The families served truly appreciate it. The drive ends December 6. Ceremony - The Town of Lane presents their annual tree lighting ceremony on Saturday, December 7, at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be served following the event. Cookies with Santa - Cookies & Cocoa with Santa will be held Thursday, December 12, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Williamsburg County Recreation Center, 2084 Thurgood Marshall Hwy., Kingstree. Family Connection South Carolina invites all families who have children with special healthcare needs and disabilities to come join them for a night of cookies, cocoa, local resources, and a visit with Santa. Topics include respecting others, bullying, underage drinking, and good manners. The play is directed by Mark Brown. Audition dates are Sunday, December 8, and Monday, December 9, from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Needed: Four women to play the ages of late 20s to very early 40s. One woman to play an elderly, refined English matron approximately. age between late 50s to very early 70s. Four men to play between the ages of late 40s to 60s. The actors do not have to be these ages, but be able and convincing to play these ages. Please note that this is an English play and while across the board, refined, English dialect would be great but the important thing is that it be done without any American, regional dialect. Please bring a prepared monologue of your choosing (memorized or written). Class - There will be a Concealed Weapon Permit class on Saturday, January 18, at 8 a.m. at the Kingstree Town Hall.
