Funeral services for Jannie Lee Bryant Nesbitt, conducted by Bro. Samuel Grimes, Jr. and Bro. Gregg Johnson, were held Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at St. Stephen Church Of Christ of St. Stephen, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home. Mrs. Nesbitt died Wednesday, October 30, 2013. She was born December 29, 1943, in Russellville, the daughter of the late Johnny Bryant and Annie Burgess Bryant. She graduated from Russellville High School. She moved to Harlem, New York. In 1978, the family relocated to Columbia. She was employed in the public sector for at least 40 years. She retired from the Department of Health and Environmental Control in 2006. Upon retirement, she moved back to Pineville, where her church home was St. Stephen Church of Christ. Her stepfather, Artopee Gaillard, and a sister, Vivian B. Pinckney, preceded her in death. Survivors are: four children, Dr. Renee N. Jefferson (Larry) of Charleston; Desiree L. Nesbitt and Audrey Nesbitt, both of Conyers, Georgia; and Chance B. Nesbitt (Teneshia) of Russellville, Alaska; one brother, Benjamin Bryant (the Rev. Edna H.) of Pineville; her mother-in-law, Genada Evans; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one foster grandchild. Pallbearers were Anthony McNeil, Gregg Johnson, Christopher Jenkins, Donald Judge, Scott Manges, and David Washington.
