Thomas Wayne Morris, 73, died Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at Tidelands Community Hospice House of Georgetown. Memorial services, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Ben Gafford and the Rev. Murray Powell, were held Friday, November 8, 2013, at Trinity United Methodist Church. Inurnment will be private. The Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Morris was born April 9, 1940, in Georgetown, the son of the late Thomas Leon Morris and Lois McCants Morris Wiggins. He grew up in Andrews and graduated from Andrews High School. He was a member of Harper’s Lodge No. 225 Ancient Free Masons in Andrews, Omar Shrine Club in Mt. Pleasant, a past director of Omar Volunteers in Andrews, and Omar Shrine Road Runners. One of his joys was helping crippled and burned children by transporting them for treatment at various Shriner’s Hospitals. During his time as a Road Runner, he made 220 trips to and from Shriner’s Hospitals in Texas, Ohio, and South Carolina. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and retired from Liberty Life Insurance Company. His step-father, Grady Wilson Wiggins, preceded him in death. Survivors are: his wife, Barbara Price Morris of Andrews; one son, Flynn Morris of Andrews; two daughters, Sheilah Webb (David) of Lexington; and Eve Eggiman (Doug) of Pawleys Island; three sisters, Mary Lois Furches and Virginia Ann Brown (Jerry), both of Kingstree, and Elisa Smith (Gerald) of Anderson; one brother, Grady Wiggins (Kim) of Lexington; and seven grandchildren.
