For 17 years, horse lovers from near and far have congregated under the deep blue November sky to watch the annual Running of the King's Tree Trials. Hosted by the Williamsburg HomeTown Chamber in cooperation with the family of the McCutchen Training Center in the Cedar Swamp Community, you'll see every walk of life from farm hand to high hat rubbing elbows, tailgating, and sampling the local fare. The event is spread out over nine races with quarter horses and thoroughbreds racing from 350 yards to three-quarters-of-a mile on the three-quarter-mile track. Spectators come from across the region to see horses from as far as New Jersey, North Carolina, and Georgia. For more info, contact the chamber at (843) 355-6431.
