Funeral services for Naomi “Monkey” Jenkins, conducted by the Rev. Curtis Dingle and the Rev. Annie Ferguson, were held Friday, October 11, 2013, at St. Phillip Baptist Church of St. Stephen. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Zion Cemetery of St. Stephen. Ms. Jenkins died Monday, October 7, 2013. She was born July 2, 1950, in Berkeley County, the daughter of the late Rev. George and Ida Jenkins. She received her education in the Berkeley County School System. She was employed at Onitas, Berkeley Manufactory, Concord Fibers, St. Stephen Knitwear, Southern Management, and Bayer and Sun Chemical. She was a member of Dingle Temple Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a coordinator of the Youth Choir. Survivors are: two sons, Anttwine Jenkins (Kimberly), and Kevin Jenkins, both of Baltimore, Maryland; one daughter, Lisa J. Mazyck (Julius) of Bonneau; two adopted daughters Teroniee Howell and Micheala Howell, both of Columbia; six sisters, Lillie Mae Jones (George) and Marie Whaley (Giber), both of St. Stephen; Beatrice Crawford (Joenathon), Janette, Doris Jenkins of Baltimore, Maryland; and Juliette Hawell of Alvin; three brothers, George Allen Jenkins (Rebecca) of St. Stephen; David Jenkins (Delores) of Bronx, New York; and Walter Jenkins of Estacada, Oregon; her stepmother, Flora Mae W. Jenkins; eight step-siblings; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers were Gyrard Jones, Daveon Johnson, George Jones, III, Jermaine Jenkins, Avery Thompson, and Thomas McCray.
