Funeral services for Peter McBride, conducted by the Rev. Samuel Davis, were held Friday, October 11, 2013, at St. Mary AME Church of Salters. Burial, directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home, followed at the churchyard cemetery. Mr. McBride, 87, died Thursday, October 3, 2013, at his residence in Salters. He was born March 13, 1926, in Salters, the son of the late Jessie McBride and Martha McClary McBride. He received his formal education in the public schools of Williamsburg County. A son, Donald McBride, preceded him in death. Survivors are: one daughter, Benita McBride of Virginia Beach, Virginia; four sons, Irene McBride of Bronx, New York; Gerald McBride (Shela) of Hackensack, New Jersey; Euegene McBride of Selt Arlington, New Jersey; and Ronald McBride of Bronx, New Jersey; three brothers, James O’Neil McBride (Mary) and David Wilson, both of Salters; and Frank McBride (Ida) of Florence; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
