Mary Roberta Davidson Pryor, widow of the Rev. Raleigh Harley Pryor, died Wednesday, October 2, 2013, in Duarte, California. Born September 24, 1918, in Pasadena, California, she was the daughter of Robert Kettles Davidson and Jennie Marie Watts Davidson. She is survived by her children, Roberta Pryor McCutchen (Ladson Fraser) of Kingstree; Yvonne Pryor Handa (Thom) of Southlake, Texas; and Marc Pryor (Rebecca) of Citrus Heights, California; one sister, Julia Davidson Moore (David) of San Luis Obispo, California; one brother, William P. Davidson (Joyce) of Amador City, California; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A lifelong Presbyterian, she was baptized in and died a member of Pasadena Presbyterian Church. A first generation Californian, she maintained pride in her Scottish heritage and remained in contact throughout her life with cousins in Scotland. Upon completing studies at Pasadena Junior College, she studied voice and music with a number of teachers. She became an accomplished soloist, pianist, and organist, and played until the 94th year of her life. Her special interest was exploring her native, beautiful, state with her husband.
In keeping with nature, she requested no service mark her passing.
