Funeral services for Bishop Daniel K. Johnson, conducted by Bishop Carl Johnson and Dr. Herman Gibson, Jr., were held Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at the chapel of Pressley’s Funeral Home. Burial, directed by Pressley’s Funeral Home, followed at Johnson-Dukes Cemetery of Andrews. Bishop Johnson died Thursday, September 19, 2013, in Loris. He was born November 24, 1934, in Andrews, the son of the late King Johnson and Lillie Dukes Johnson. He was educated in the public school system of Williamsburg County. In his early years he became a member of Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church. There he remained until he moved to Baltimore, Maryland. He was the founder and pastor of The House of Prayer # 1 of Good Samaritan. He worked for many years as a contractor. Survivors are: four brothers; Mr. and Mrs. Egusta Johnson of Las Vegas, Nevada; Elder Kelly Johnson of Baltimore, Maryland; Deacon Kelton Johnson of Bronx, New York; and Namen Bennett of Andrews.
