Crash results in death of a Cades man

A single vehicle crash resulted in the death of a Cades man. On September 22, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Gregory Damon Staggers, 41, was traveling west on McCutchen Road when the 2006 Chrysler he was driving left the road and struck a tree. Staggers was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol. Staggers was pronounced dead at the scene according to Williamsburg County Deputy Coroner Vernal Fulton. The crash remains under investigation.
