William H. “Billy” Cox, 84, died Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at his residence in North Carolina. The service will be private, directed by Jackson Funeral Service & Crematory. Born November 27, 1927, in Latta, he was the son of Marsden and Sadie Cox. A son, William H. Cox, Jr. and a brother, Marsden Cox, Jr. preceded him in death. He graduated from Clemson University in 1949 and served as a lieutenant in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He spent his early life as a farmer and businessman in Kingstree. Survivors are: his wife, Julia D. Cox; one daughter, Carolyn Cox McGill and her mother, Jennie B. Cox; his daughter-in-law, Sally Jennings Cox; and five grandchildren.
