Virginia Willis Lovett, 84, of Hickory, North Carolina, formerly of Indiantown, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at Palliative CareCenter and Hospice of Catawba Valley in Newton. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Indiantown Presbyterian Church of Hemingway. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, followed at the church cemetery.
Born October 6, 1927, in Williamsburg County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Evelyn Johnson Willis. She was a graduate of the McLeod Hospital Nursing School and served in the Cadet Nurse Corps during World War II. She was a retired nurse from Bryant Clinic and the Williamsburg County School System. Survivors are: her husband, Braxton Lovett of the home; one son, J.B. Lovett (Vicki) of Hickory, North Carolina; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
