THOMAS SCOTT, SR., KINGSTREE

Funeral services for Thomas “Scrap-Iron” Scott, Sr., conducted by Senior Bishop Odell Fulton and Elder Melvin Frierson, were held Thursday, May 17, 2012, at Sandridge Holiness Church of Kingstree. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Kingstree Cemetery of Kingstree.

Mr. Scott died Friday, May 11, 2012. He was born October 16, 1945, in Williamsburg County, the son of the late Sylvia Rebecca Scott and Roland Scott. He received his formal education in the Williamsburg County School System and later received certification as a welder. He was employed by Baxter Healthcare for over 32 years, and was later employed for numerous years at Firestone, Martin Telephone, and American Paper Mill.  He attended Scott Holy Temple. Two brothers, Roland, Jr. and Tony, and one sister, Betty, preceded him in death. Survivors are: his wife, Mrs. Willette McFadden Scott of the home; two sons, Leonard Scott and Thomas Scott, Jr. (Rebecca) of Kingstree; two daughters, Denise Scott Liles and Addie Vanessa Scott of Durham, North Carolina; two sisters, Lucille P. Scott and Gladys Anderson (Willie, Jr.), both of Kingstree; two brothers, Nathaniel Davis Scott (Emma) of Kingstree; and Nathaniel Scott of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and two grandchildren.
