The Kingstree Police are searching for a suspect in connection to a shooting that occurred at he Sig-Nature Boutique Hotel. According to the KPD incident report, on the evening of May 24, an unknown suspect approached the outer door of the front desk area of the hotel and at very close range pointed a pistol at a worker. The victim reacted by pushing the suspect’s arm and the pistol away for her head then barricaded herself until officers arrived. The incident report states that a shot was fired and responding officers recovered an expended cartridge from the scene. The victim was not hurt and nothing was taken during the incident. Police Chief Robert Ford is asking if anyone has information abut this crime to call the KPD at 355-5435. Callers may remain anonymous.
O’Reilly’s celebrates grand opening
Kingstree welcomed a new business with the grand opening of O’Reilly Auto Parts located at 1205 Longstreet Street. O’ Reilly’s boast the best auto supply in the area with all of its four full-time employees having at least 15 years of experience in auto parts and service. Sue Tisdale, store manager, invites the community to come by for a visit and to see the vast array of parts and supplies available. O’Reilly’s offers parts and supplies to be used for boats, lawn mowers, agriculture and fleet vehicles. The store also offers services such as battery testing, electrical testing, drum/rotor resurfacing, fluid recycling, module testing and a tool loaner program.
O’Reilly Automotive, Inc. officially began in Springfield, Missouri in November of 1957, with one store and 13 employees. Because of the hard work and dedication of the employees, the business grew and prospered from its very first year. The mission statement maintains that O’Reilly Automotive intends to be the dominant supplier of auto parts in their market areas by offering the retail customer, professional installers, and jobbers, the best combination of price/quality provided with the highest possible service level.
