Peggy Reaves Carter, 79, widow of William Stafford Carter, died Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at the Kingstree Nursing Facility.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 4, 2013, at Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home, followed at the church cemetery.
Mrs. Carter was born April 10, 1933, in Clinton, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Ernest Sauls Reaves and Claudine Reeves Reaves Phillips. Peggy earned her Practical Nursing Degree and license and worked many years for the Williamsburg County School System as a school nurse. She was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church, where she was a Bible schoolteacher. She was a member of the Kingstree Pilot Club and worked as a fundraiser for the American Heart Association and the Lung Association.
Survivors are: one daughter, Ann Carter Mickle of Murrells Inlet; one son, Bill Carter (Mary Beth) of Summerville; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
