Funeral services for Nancy Elizabeth Williams, conducted by the Rev. Kay Adams Best, were held Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Elijah United Methodist Church of Kingstree. Burial, directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home, followed at the churchyard cemetery. Ms. Williams, 96, died Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Dr. Ronald E. McNair Rehabilitation and Nursing Center of Lake City. She was born December 13, 1915, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late Wallace and Dinah Adamson Williams. Two brothers, George Williams and John Williams, preceded her in death. She attended the public schools of Williamsburg County. She was a lifelong member of Elijah United Methodist Church. She worked as a cook at Wilson Chapel School and later at St. Mark School until she retired after 28 years. Survivors are: four daughters, Hessie Stiff (Gene) of Ben Salem, Pennsylvania; Karen Nelson (Anthony) of Columbia; and Charisse McFadden (Wayne) and Flora Moderstine Shaw, both of Kingstree; a granddaughter she helped rear, Rekia Shaquandra Ravenel of Columbia; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
