Mary Eva Grady Stutts, 89, of Port Royal, died Friday, May 4, 2012. A private memorial service will be held by her family. Copeland Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Stutts was born on June 18, 1922, in Turkey, North Carolina. She was predeceased by her husband, Earl Wilson Stutts. She ran the Stutts Child Care Center in Charleston for 18 years. Seven brothers preceded her in death. Survivors are: four daughters, Betty Gene Haller and Lucie Stutts, both of Mt. Pleasant; Patsy Matthews of Kingstree; and Jo Stutts of Beaufort; one sister, Louise Stanley, seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
