Funeral services for Mrs. Lottie Mae McCrea Moyd, conducted by the Rev. James C. Lane, were held Saturday December 22, 2012, at St. Paul United Methodist Church of Kingstree, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home.
Mrs. Moyd died Monday, December 17, 2012. She was born October 15, 1935, in Kingstree, the daughter of the late Cicero McCrea and Priscilla McCrea. Nine siblings, Jacob McCrea, Edward McCrea, Andrew McCrea, Edgar McCrea, Joe McCrea, David McCrea, Mary (Walter) McCrea Murphy, Ellen McCrea, and Bertha McCrea, preceded her in death. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She received her formal education at St. Paul High School of Kingstree. She moved to Rochester, New York, where she was employed as a supervisor at Brighton High School for 12 years. She then moved back to Kingstree and became a housekeeper for many years.
Survivors are: her husband, Eli Moyd; one son, Dwyer Moyd; two daughters, Priscilla Moyd McFadden (Randy), and Theresa Moyd Lee; two siblings, Cicero “Buck” McCrea (Rebecca “Susie”), and Eloise McCrea Burrows; and 19 grandchildren.
