Funeral services for Mrs. Georgeanna “Georgia” Ransom Ralls, conducted by the Rev. J. Jeannetté Cooper, were held Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church of Kingstree, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home. Mrs. Ralls died Friday, January 25, 2013, at Williamsburg Regional Hospital of Kingstree. She was born February 11, 1938, in Kingstree, the daughter of Mrs. Parthenia Ransom and the late Willie Ransom. She attended the public schools of Williamsburg County, and was a graduate of Tomlinson High School, Class of 1957. She relocated to New York, where she attended nursing school in New York City, New York, and was employed by Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital. She was married to the late Edward “Joe” Blanding. She returned to Kingstree in 1974, where she was employed at Kingstree Memorial Hospital of Kingstree, where she worked as a nurse for many years. In 1984, she relocated to New York, and returned to Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital until she retired after many years of service. She was also married to Michael Ralls. Survivors, in addition to her mother of Kingstree, are: four children, Bernard Ransom of Charlotte, North Carolina; Michelle “Cookie” Blanding of Baltimore, Maryland; Anthony Kevin Blanding (Darlene) of Washington, DC; and Sandra Blanding-Lott (Bernard) of Jamaica, New York; three brothers, Willie Ransom (Rachel) of Galloway, New Jersey; Harold Ransom (Sheryl) of Danville, Virginia; and Edward Ransom of Kingstree; four sisters, Corine Graham of Cades; Gwen Tisdale and Elizabeth Ransom, both of Kingstree; and Daisy Porter (James) of Columbia; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
