Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Brown “Ting” Shaw, conducted by Bishop Dr. Roosevelt Fulton and Bishop Dr. Linwood Cooper, were held Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Evangelistic Temple Way of the Cross of Kingstree. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at McGill Cemetery of Kingstree. Mother Shaw died Saturday, January 26, 2013. She was born September 28, 1919, in the Sandy Bay Community of Williamsburg County, the daughter of the late Cloe and Itlean Pendergrass Brown, and the stepdaughter of the late Irene Bradley Brown. She was educated in the public school system of Williamsburg County.
She was a member of Trinity Believers Holiness Church for over 60 years. “Moma,” as she was known in the community, was loved by everyone. She was married to the late Louis Shaw. A daughter, Theresa Anise McKnight, preceded her in death.
Survivors are: her children, Mary Ann Green of the home; Barbara Bligen (Nathaniel) of Goose Creek; David Shaw (Lillie) of Kingstree; and Itlean Washington (Kenneth) of Ave-nel, New Jersey; two nephews she reared as her own, Rodney Shaw (Yolanda) of Highland Ranch, Colorado; and Kenneth Shaw (Patricia) of Battle Creek, Michigan; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
