ELIZABETH MIDDLETON, ST.STEPHENS

Funeral services for Elizabeth “Betsy” Middleton, conducted by the Rev. Benjamin Milligan, were held Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Redeemer Reformed Episcopal Church of Pineville. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Gourdine Cemetery of Pineville. Mrs. Middleton died Monday, April 16, 2012, at Lake Moultrie Nursing Facility of St. Stephen. She was born September 3, 1935, in Russellville, the daughter of the late Saul Waring and Pearline Wilson Waring. She attended the public schools of Berkeley County, and graduated from Russellville High School, Class of 1957. She was married to the late Henry Middleton. She was a member of Redeemer Reformed Episcopal Church, where she was a member of the Senior Choir. Four brothers, Samuel, David “Daniel,” Frank Louis, and James, preceded her in death. Survivors are: her children, Warren Waring, and Norma Jean Middleton, both of St. Stephen; Steven Middleton (Sharon) of Alvin; Jeanette Eaddy (Bernard) of Moncks Corner; and Paul Middleton (Cynthia) of Pineville; three stepchildren, Henretta Campbell (Alonza) of Charleston; Annie Mae Cox of Hempstead, New York; and Benjamin Middleton (Katina) of Atlanta, Georgia; one grandson who was reared in the home, Henry Jamaul Middleton of Atlanta, Georgia; five sisters, Annie Lee Sumter (Horace) of Manhattan, New York; Lillie Mae Middleton of St. Stephen; Annie Ruth Lampkin (Freddie) of Alvin; Irene McCray, and Laura Waring of St. Stephen; one brother, Douglas Waring of St. Stephen; 32 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Eric McCray, Kingsly Waring, Corey McCray, Elliot Lampkin, Freddie Lampkin, Jr., James Wright, Ricky McCray, and Carl Sinkler.
