Funeral services for Little Miss Der’Kaylah Ke’Mounte D’Ericka “Kaylah” McCray, conducted by the Rev. Warren Murdock, Sr. and the Rev. Allen Nesmith, were held Friday, October 19, 2012, at Friendship United Methodist Church of Nesmith. Burial, directed by Henryhand Funeral Home, followed at Friendship United Methodist Cemetery #2 of Nesmith. Little Miss McCray died Sunday, October 14, 2012, at Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. She was born September 17, 2004, at McLeod Hospital of Florence, the daughter of Sha’Kelia Watts and Derick McCray. She was baptized on June 5, 2005, at Friendship United Methodist Church of Nesmith. She was a member of and enjoyed attending Destiny World Church of Austell, Georgia. She was an enthusiastic second grader at Peachtree Elementary School of Norcross, Georgia. She was excited to become a member of the Girl Scouts. She enjoyed going to the Princess to Queen Camp. Survivors are: her mother, Sha’Kelia Watts of Norcross, Georgia; her father, Derick McCray of Bradenten, Florida; two brothers, Da’Reek McCray of Norcross, Georgia; and Darious McCray of Hemingway; two sisters, Destiny and Diamond McCray, both of Bradenton, Florida; her maternal grandparents, Katie Watts of Nesmith; and John Watts of Boston, Massachusetts; her paternal grandparents, Annie Sue McCray of Hemingway; and Donald Brockington of Hemingway; and her maternal great-grandmother, Dell Nesmith of Nesmith.
